Routine traffic checks can sometimes uncover more than just a speeding violation. This was the case on Aleja Wieniawy-Długoszewskiego, a major thoroughfare in Warsaw, where a traffic police patrol stopped a vehicle that was speeding 27 km/h over the limit. What initially seemed like a minor infraction soon revealed a series of more serious issues.

Police uncover driver’s legal troubles

During a standard identity check, officers discovered that the driver was wanted for establishing his whereabouts. More unsettling was that he had been driving without valid permissions; his license had been revoked, and he was not legally allowed to drive, breaching Article 180a of the Criminal Code.

Vehicle technical condition raises concerns

The situation worsened when police examined the vehicle’s condition. The car’s registration had been electronically suspended, and it had not passed a technical inspection in nearly two and a half years. Furthermore, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and the vehicle failed to meet basic equipment standards, adding to the list of violations.

Legal repercussions and fines

In light of these findings, officers imposed fines totaling 1,400 PLN and 15 penalty points on the driver’s license. The driver’s offenses do not end here; he will face additional charges in court for the more serious legal breaches. This incident highlights how a simple traffic stop can reveal multiple layers of illegal activity, ultimately contributing to improved road safety.
